Data we collect
We may collect the following Data, which includes personal Data, from you: • name; • date of birth; • contact information such as email addresses and telephone numbers; • payment information — card payments are processed by our payment provider (Stripe) and we do not store your full card details; • IP address (automatically collected); • operating system (automatically collected); • approximate location (to show nearby tournaments), profile photo, user-generated content (messages, reviews, uploaded images, tournament entries and results), sporting activity and ratings, and push-notification device tokens / identifiers; in each case, in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
How we collect data
We collect Data in the following ways: Data is given to us by you; Data is received from other sources; and Data is collected automatically.
Data given to us by you
Playtopus Ltd will collect your Data in a number of ways, for example: • when you contact us through the Website, by telephone, post, email or any other means; • when you register with us and set up an account to receive our products / services; • when you make payments to us, through this Website or otherwise; • when you use our services.
Data received from third parties
Playtopus Ltd will receive Data about you from the following third parties: Apple; Google; Stripe.
Data collected automatically
To the extent that you access the Website, we will collect your Data automatically. We automatically collect some information about your visit — this helps us improve Website content and navigation, and includes your IP address, the date, times and frequency with which you access the Website, and the way you use and interact with its content.
Our use of data
Any or all of the above Data may be required by us from time to time to provide you with the best possible service and experience. Specifically, Data may be used for: • internal record keeping; • improvement of our products / services; • to operate the core service — running tournaments, brackets and draws, recording match results and ratings, enabling messaging between participants, sending service notifications, and processing entry-fee payments, refunds and organiser payouts; to keep the service secure and prevent fraud and abuse; and to comply with our legal obligations. Images uploaded to the App are automatically scanned by an automated content-moderation service before they are shown to other users, in order to detect and prevent the sharing of inappropriate content. We may use your Data for the above purposes where necessary for our legitimate interests; if you are not satisfied, you have the right to object in certain circumstances (see "Your rights"). When you register and set up an account, the legal basis for this processing is the performance of a contract between you and us and/or taking steps, at your request, to enter into such a contract.
Who we share data with
We may share your Data with the following groups for the following reasons: • our employees, agents and/or professional advisors — to operate, support and improve the service, respond to enquiries and resolve disputes, and to obtain legal, accounting and other professional advice; • third party service providers — to perform functions on our behalf, such as hosting our database, sending notifications, moderating content and keeping the app running securely and reliably; • third party payment providers — to process entry-fee payments, refunds and organiser payouts securely; • relevant authorities — to comply with our legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, and facilitate the detection of crime or the collection of taxes or duties; • other users of the service — to provide the app's social and competitive features, such as showing public profiles, ratings, tournament rosters and results, and organiser reviews to relevant players and organisers.
